Joint Commission accreditation involves evaluating a health care organization's performance in areas that most affect patient health and safety. These areas are defined in Joint Commission standards. By achieving accreditation, a health care organization makes a commitment to follow Joint Commission standards, which provide the framework for safe, quality care.

What does medcom’s accreditation mean to you?
The Joint Commission evaluates and accredits nearly 15,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. An independent, not-for-profit organization, the Joint Commission is the nation’s predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in health care. Since 1951, the Joint Commission has maintained state-of-the-art standards that focus on improving the quality and safety of care provided by health care organizations.

The Joint Commission’s comprehensive accreditation process evaluates medcom’s compliance with these standards and other accreditation requirements.
Joint Commission accreditation is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects medcom’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.
To earn and maintain the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™, medcom must undergo an on-site survey by a Joint Commission survey team at least every three years.

Windsor, CO – By demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety, the medcom group, ltd.® has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™.

Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission is dedicated to continuously improving the safety and quality of the nation's health care through voluntary accreditation. the medcom group, ltd.®, which provides rehabilitation services for hospital, clinic, surgery centers and home, received the accreditation award after The Joint Commission found that it had demonstrated compliance with The Joint Commission's national standards for home care organizations.

"In becoming accredited, medcom was evaluated against a set of national standards by a Joint Commission surveyor experienced in the delivery of home care services," says Gina val Zimmermann, senior executive director, Business Development, The Joint Commission. "Achieving accreditation demonstrates medcom commitment to provide high quality and safe care to its patients."

Sallie Barnett, President, says Joint Commission accreditation shows that "we make a significant investment in quality on a day-to-day basis from the top down.
