F.A.Q.'s

How do I get my CPM?
There are two ways to initiate your CPM order.  Both ways work very well.  The first way is to use the contact us tab
(Contact Us ).  Enter your contact information and any additional information which might help our representative to understand your unique situation like:  "I am having a total knee replacement in two weeks and I need a knee CPM."  Our representative will call you back and explain how easy it is to have a CPM delivered to your front door.  The second way is to call us.  Just dial 1-800-231-4276 and our staff will assist you.

Why do I need a prescription (RX) from my doctor?                                                                    Your doctor will know if there are any reasons why a CPM would not be beneficial in your particular situation.  Because of this, the law requires a prescription for a CPM machine.

Does Medicare cover a CPM machine?
Medicare will only cover a knee CPM machine for 21 days as long as the CPM is put on within 48 hours of a Total Knee Replacement or Total Knee Revision.  Medicare will not cover a CPM for any other purpose including Knee Manipulation, ACL, Total Shoulder, Rotator Cuff Repair, etc.

What if I have health insurance?
Medcom will work with you and your insurance company to pre-authorize your CPM.  We may find that it will be less expensive for you to pre-pay for your CPM and submit the charges yourself to your insurance company.  Either way, we will clearly explain your options so you will feel comfortable with your decision.

Will the CPM cause extra pain?
On the contrary, CPM helps to reduce swelling.  By reducing the swelling, there will be less pressure on the nerve endings which will help to reduce your pain.  In most cases, you will find that you will feel much better while you are using the CPM.  Most patients sleep better while using the CPM.  Your doctor will let you know how to best handle any pain that is associated with your surgery.

How do I return my CPM?
Returning your CPM is very easy.  Just call 1-800-231-4276 and we will arrange a quick pick up of your equipment.
