The Sequential Compression Device, or SCD, is used to enhance blood circulation in the legs. For patients who are immobile, the SCD can help prevent many circulatory diseases that are common to non-mobile patients by increasing circulation in the lower extremities. This in turn can reduce pain and swelling.

There are models designed for strictly hospital use, and medcom offers these for rental & sale to home patients, and then there are models whose primary intent is that of home use, and of course, we offer those as well.  Kendall is the inventor and original patent holder of the concept for SCD devices.  Their products are designed for hospital use - 24/7.

The SCD machine is simple to use. It consists of a controller connected by an air supply hose to a pair of specially designed inflation Sleeves. The Sleeves are rapidly inflated by the controller and gently squeeze the ankles, calves, and thighs in turn to enhance the circulation of the legs and lower body.

  • Clinically proven, non-invasive method of prophylaxis to reduce the incidence of deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
  • For use on patients with high risk conditions such as obesity, advanced age, malignancy, prior thromboembolism, renal failure, or lymphedema.
  • Pneumatic controller provides intermittent of pulses of compressed air which sequentially inflate the multiple chambers of the sleeve beginning at the ankle and moving up the leg.
  • Results in a wave-like milking action which empties the veins and results in greatly increased peak blood flow velocity.
  • Thigh-length sleeve available in sterile packaging for use on the draped leg during major hip surgery.
  • It is important to identify patients at risk of lymphedema early and to begin preventive monitoring and instruction for self care. A compression device is a valuable component to lymphedema therapy.
  • Models available for daily rental, or lifetime use.

The BioCompression 2004  The BioCompression 3004

Gradient pressures are delivered sequentially and maintained throughout the compression cycle.

The BioCompression 2004:

  • A segmented device that features gradient pressure.

  • Pressure can be adjusted in chamber #1 providing gradient pressure to the following chambers #2, #3 & #4

The Model SC-2004 Sequential Circulator is a gradient, sequential, pneumatic compression device, intended for the primary or adjunctive treatment of primary or secondary Lymphedema. The device is additionally intended for alternative treatment of chronic venous stasis ulcers and associated venous insufficiency, as well as general treatment of swelling of the extremities. The device is intended for home or hospital use.

The BioCompression 3004:

  • A segmented device with calibrated gradient pressure

  • Enables the adjustment of individual pressures that can be modified in each individual chamber of the leg or arm sleeve.

  • Allowing for the pressure on sensitive areas to be alleviated from that site

Model SC-3004 Sequential Circulator is a gradient, sequential, pneumatic compression device, intended for the primary or adjunctive treatment of primary or secondary Lymphedema. The device is intended for alternate treatment of chronic venous stasis ulcers and associated venous insufficiency, as well as general treatment of swelling of the extremities.
